Cycling on
Hampstead Heath
Hampstead Heath is a highly valued wild park in North London.
Green School Runs fully supports the City of London and the Heath & Hampstead Society in their efforts to protect and conserve the park.
However, we believe that the local community would benefit greatly from opening up a few more routes for children and their carers to cycle during school hours. This would enable many families and young students to cycle through the park to their place of education, thereby increasing active travel and reducing congestion and pollution on the roads surrounding the park - which, incidentally, do not provide safe cycling facilities.
Over the past few years, we have been campaigning with the City of London and the Heath & Hampstead Society to open up three more cycle routes for children and their carers during school hours.
